Director and Principal Designer
Steve is a design thinker who is focussed on building a great place for people to do meaningful work. Most people refer to him by his nickname, ``trib``. Its origins are a long story. He's worked with clients around the world including several Australian federal agencies, Westpac, SAP, and Alzheimer's Australia, solving wicked problems, designing and building great policy, products and services, and building their skills. Away from work he grows bonsai, is a nationally ranked powerlifter, and ran TEDxCanberra for seven years.
Kara’s passion for engaging design has taken her to many exciting places, including the Super Bowl, Oscars, and most recently, the White House as UX Director for Vice President Biden. Kara was in the first class of Presidential Innovation Fellows, where she was entrepreneur in residence, reimagining the relationship between the government and the people through technology. She spent 4 years at TurboTax and founded TEDxIntuit. Her pro-bono work includes time in rural India teaching micro-entrepreneur women product management and business skills and guest lectures at UC San Diego STEM Academy for high school girls.
Nat's a designer whose skills bridge technology and problem-solving. He's got over 15 years' experience as a designer and developer, including experience with a range of Australian federal agencies and overseas experience in NZ. As digital product and service designer, he finds the value he brings to clients has often been in helping them tackle stubborn big hairy problems by showing them creative thinking techniques and visually unpacking problems into concept maps, mind maps, metaphors, and even comics, facilitating workshops and framing challenges in novel ways.
